A DC Direct line of Superman/Batman figures will debut this August as sculpted by Tim Bruckner. Inspired by the “Public Enemies” story arc penciled by McGuninness, series 1 includes Batman, Superman, Captain Atom and Metallo. But don’t go to Toys R Us looking for them; they’ll only be found in comic & hobby shops.

Classic X-men fans rejoice as Giant Size X-Men #3 will be on sale May 25th, 2005. At 80 pages, this edition commemorates the 30th anniversary of Giant Size X-Men # 1 in 1975 (which ushered the 1st major lineup change, as well as saving the mutants from cancellation). Featuring a new story by Joss Whedon & Dave Cockrum, GS X-Men #3 will feature a battle between the FF and the young mutants in Fantastic Four #28 (1964), an early Avengers guest appearance in X-Men #9 (1964) & the 1st meeting between Spider-Man and the X-men in X-Men #35 (1967).
